Embolization / The finish

The i-ED COIL System pairs a simple portfolio of shape-memory coils with the EDG v4 detachment system. When the aneurysm is irregular, shapeless matters: low-memory coils seek the open space instead of compartmentalizing into a ball.

Step 01

Frame.

Complex coils build a stable, conforming basket across the dome. In a ruptured basilar tip case at Cleveland Clinic, much of the volume was secured before the next coil was even loaded.

Step 02

Fill.

Infini and Complex Infini coils seek space for volume, with up to 2x the volume of a 0.010 in coil and lengths up to 50 cm. Fewer coils, denser packing.

Step 03

Finish.

SilkySoft finishing coils are soft enough to respect fragile anatomy and stable enough to hold shape in small sacs, through a 0.013 in microcatheter.

The portfolio

A simple portfolio. Every shape the case needs.

Our mission is to expand treatment options for neurovascular embolization. At our core, we focus on sustainability, which is why the portfolio stays simple.

Where it fits

The finish, delivered through the system.

SilkySoft profiles fit through a 0.013 in microcatheter, so the i-ED Coil pairs with SurfRider 13 for distal targets.

Indications for use

The i-ED COIL System (i-ED COIL and EDG v4) is intended for the endovascular embolization of intracranial aneurysms and other neurovascular abnormalities such as arteriovenous malformations and arteriovenous fistulae. It is also intended for vascular occlusion of blood vessels within the neurovascular system to permanently obstruct blood flow to an aneurysm or other vascular malformation, and for arterial and venous embolizations in the peripheral vasculature.
